You do not need to own a firearm, know which firearm you want to purchase, or have previous shooting experience before taking a class at Plymouth Heritage Gun Works.
Our instructors focus on safety, fundamentals and clear, patient instruction. Questions are encouraged, and our goal is to make firearms education approachable rather than intimidating.
What If I’ve Never Handled A Firearm?
That’s not a problem. Our Basic Firearms Safety class is designed to provide new students with a foundation in firearm safety, terminology, responsible ownership and safe handling concepts.
You’ll have an experienced instructor available to answer questions and help you understand the material at a comfortable pace.

Nichole Filipe
Nichole is a certified firearms instructor and law-enforcement professional with more than a decade of practical experience as a police officer.
Her teaching style is patient, practical and particularly welcoming to new shooters. She focuses on strong fundamentals, safe firearm handling and building genuine confidence without creating an intimidating training environment.
Whether a student is learning about firearms for the first time or developing existing knowledge, Nichole emphasizes learning at a comfortable pace and developing sound habits from the beginning.

How much is the LTC class?
The regular class price is $149. For a limited time, students can save $25 by using coupon code FALL25 when registering.
Do I need firearms experience before taking a class?
No. Beginners are welcome, including students who have never previously owned or handled a firearm.
Do I need to own a firearm?
No. You do not need to purchase or own a firearm before beginning firearms training or the licensing process.
Does the current class include live fire?
No. Our currently offered Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety classes are classroom-based. Plymouth Heritage Gun Works is developing additional live-fire training opportunities that we expect to offer in the future.
What is the Women & Moms class?
The Women & Moms LTC class provides Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety instruction in a comfortable, professional environment designed specifically for women. It is taught by Nichole Filipe and welcomes students of all experience levels.
When is the Women & Moms class offered?
The class is scheduled for the first Thursday of each month from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM, beginning Thursday, November 5. Check the registration schedule above for current availability.
Is the class appropriate if I’m nervous around firearms?
Yes. Many students begin with little or no firearms experience. The emphasis is on safety, patient instruction, fundamentals and building knowledge at an appropriate pace.
